On Jun. 1st, 2008, Mrs. Zhao Yali, Secretary-General of CBIA, visited Hangzhou Zhongya Machinery Co., Ltd. located in Gongshu District, Hangzhou City. When entering the Company, she was soon attracted by its rich characteristics of culture.

Mr. Shi Zhongwei, General Manager of the Company, made a detailed description of the enterprise’s development. Founded at the end of 1992 and having some 600 employees including 80 designers, Hangzhou Zhongya Machinery Co., Ltd. majors in packaging machinery for dairy products and milk-containing beverages, and is gradually opening up the fields of domestic chemistry, pharmacy and plastics. Its products have come to replace the imports in China’s dairy industry, accounting for 40~50% of the dairy machinery and saving nearly 3 billion yuan RMB for Chinese dairy companies.

Last year, 10% of the Company’s products were exported to important dairy countries including New Zealand. The proportion of exports is anticipated to reach 25% in 2008. Mr. Shi added that the rapid development of Chinese beverage machinery industry and the continuous growth of Chinese enterprises have attracted high attention from foreign companies, who are studying how to keep up with the development of Chinese beverage machinery industry through adding Chinese cultural characteristics to their own products. Mrs. Zhao and Mr. Shi also discussed some issues including the training of professional managers and successors.
